Mullacurry Construction showcased its expertise in conservation works through the successful renovation of five derelict and vacant properties at the historic St Ita’s Campus in Portrane, Co. Dublin. This achievement marks the completion of a fourteen-house refurbishment project, delivered on behalf of Fingal County Council as part of its Vacant Homes Action Plan.
Description
- Refurbishment of derelict terraced bungalows
- Conservation and replication of heritage windows & doors
- Preservation of existing brick work & stone lintels
- Demolition of roofs, rear extensions, and boundary walls
- Replacement of concrete floors
- Construction of new truss roofs with salvaged tiles
- Full mechanical, electrical, and energy upgrades
- Landscaping, site development, new service connections, and ancillary works
Awards
This project was nominated for a LAMA All Ireland Community and Council Award, winning Best Housing Regeneration and Urban Planning Award. This marks the projects huge success, and recognises how the project provides high quality homes in a high demand location, promoting social equality, community cohesion, environmental sustainability, and successfully contributes to the local community.
